Tyga just dropped “Rawwest Nigga Alive.” So, we gave it a listen. Here’s what we thought about it.

Our Take

Based on the title of the mixtape, you would expect Tyga to be on straight beast mode. We’re not sure if we feel that if he lived up to the title. At best, this was a decent listen. It seems that he didn’t come with great lyrical content, though production sounded similar to the tracks he’s well known for. As a featured artist, Tyga drops fire, but having him carry an entire song seems to be a difficult task for him. We hear conflicting styles throughout the mixtape. We heard some west coast rap, trap, and hip-hop. The lyrical substance was mainly¬†braggadocious, which is a common theme in today’s rap game.

Favorite Track

Our top track was “I, I Cry”, which is number 16. We felt that this song featured solid bars and production was beautiful. Don’t skip this during your listen.

Least Favorite Track

We¬†didn’t really care for “Happy Birthday.” It didn’t sound like genuine Tyga and the concept was a miss for us.
