Featured Artist: Sarkastik Ambassador

September 13th, 2016

We recently sat down with Sarkastik Ambassador to learn more about his music and his mission.

Us: How did you come up with your artist name?
Sarkastik Ambassador: My favorite artiste of all time would forever be Childish Gambino and I did some research on how he came up with his name and found out he used a Wu Tang Name Generator. Usually you get lame names like Silent Prophet, or Quiet Wanderer but I just happened to get a cool one, Sarkastik Ambassador and it fits so well.

Us: What inspired you to start making music?
Sarkastik Ambassador: I used to write all the time. I’d be in class beating the table or humming a beat in my head and writing to it but it wasn’t until 2013 when I met Jimmy October, who’s the leader of the collective I’m apart of, OverDose Music Group, that I got the inspiration I needed to start making music. He helped me a lot and pushed me in the right circles.

Us: Who is/are your biggest influence(s) and why?
Sarkastik Ambassador: My biggest influences are Childish Gambino, Vic Mensa, Kanye West, Q-Tip, Nas, J.Cole, Travis Scott and Chance the Rapper.

Us: What do you want your fans to feel when they hear your music?
Sarkastik Ambassador: I want my fans to feel what I’ve been through, through my music. I want them to know that they have someone they could relate to whether it’s relatable ignorance when you just wanna be right all the time, to relatable submissiveness, where you let people in and allow them to control the situation for once.

Us: What can we expect from you? What are you working on? What do you have coming out?
Sarkastik Ambassador: As for upcoming projects, I plan on keeping what’s going on with my next project a secret but what I can say is it would be out either late this year, or early next year and the name of it is Contradictions.
